Vijlen is a lovely area for hiking, with gorgeous scenery, and I’ll definitely be back for coffee and cake. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, and the bread is some of the best I’ve ever had. PS: thanks again for helping me out tonight, even though the café had already closed! ♥️🍞🍎

The hosts are charming and chatty, and shared local tips and traditions over a lovely breakfast. The place is quiet, clean and cosy, and just right for cyclists or hikers. The beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast café is down a very steep set of steps. Everything was perfect. Just be careful with those tasty regional beers if you’re not steady on very steep stairs : )

This is a great little cafetaria in Vijlen for hikers and cyclists looking for a drink or a small bite. The service was friendly and quick. I enjoyed the coffee and cappuccino, plus a big slice of tasty rice pudding tart. They close at 5.30PM.

We arrived drenched from the rain, and this B&B was just what we needed: a nice room, a good shower and welcoming hosts. They even let us wash our clothes and get everything dried out. As bicycle tourists, we felt especially well looked after. There’s a good spot in town, with shops and a church nearby, and the buffet breakfast was very nice, with friendly conversation too. Thanks so much, it was perfect for us.

After hiking nearby, this is a really nice place to stop for a snack. There’s a wide selection of dishes with interesting names. The homemade lemonade is definitely worth trying!
