Stad & Strandhotel Elisabeth

The rooms, accommodation, and included breakfast were all really nice, but I wouldn't stay here in summer. On arrival, I saw all the fans on the welcome desk and in the room and had a feeling it would be hot. It was unbearable. You can only open one window a little, and even at 2 am, with it 11 degrees Celsius outside, the room was still awful. We left the door open overnight so we could breathe. Go in winter and you'll have a great time!

The beach is a beautiful 5-10 minute walk away, with a lovely water tower across the road. The room was clean and nice, the staff very friendly, and free coffee and tea were available. You could heat water in the bedroom, and one room also has a balcony. Breakfast was the same each day, but tasty and filling. The wifi was almost unusable in our third-floor room, which locals call the second floor. The signal showed only one bar, maybe a line, and kept dropping, so I had to use mobile data about 60% of the time. The bathroom itself was nice, but there was no wall or curtain separating the shower from the rest of the room. If you're not careful cleaning up, the whole floor can get wet, even around the toilet. The hotel provided a window-cleaning tool to push water across the floor, but it had no handle, so we had to crawl around to use it. I'd recommend the place, but the wifi issue kept it from being five stars for me. Internet matters a lot to someone like me.

We had a spacious, clean room and lots of shops nearby. The beach was only a five-minute walk away, which made the location ideal for us. The staff were so nice that, when the restaurant was closed because of Covid-19, they even packed us a lunch bag for the next morning. I'd recommend staying here.

It's an old but clean hotel with a good breakfast. There's no air conditioning. It was cold when we arrived, so the hotel gave us an electric heater. The stairs aren't suitable for older people.
