The wood cabin we stayed in was great. Bring your own sleeping bags and things if you want to keep the cost down.

A basic little mini-camping site.

The farmhouse is charming and the location is good, but we won’t be coming back. We stayed in the Peppelhoeve Carriage House last weekend. It feels like an outbuilding that’s simply been turned into a holiday cottage. It was very damp and poorly insulated, and the stairs to the sleeping loft were so steep that you have to go down backwards. I slept up in the loft, where there were lots of dead insects in the window screens and between the glass panes. It didn’t feel very fresh. The bathroom was tidy, but the shower barely had any flow, so washing long hair was quite a challenge. The lady managing the rentals for the owners did her best and welcomed us kindly. She was very polite, brought extra dishes straight away because there weren’t enough, and replaced the broken smoke detector in the loft.

Wagenhuis, Summer 24. The stairs have been fixed, but the rest is still really substandard. The window frames need replacing, there’s barely any daylight in the living room, and it’s extension cord after extension cord. It’s damp, and for five people there’s hardly anywhere to put clothes, just two small cabinets. The outdoor setting is great, but inside there’s a lot to be desired. It was also cleaned extremely poorly, with cobwebs everywhere. A real shame, and never again.

We found the area around the village peaceful and lovely, with beautiful beaches just a three-minute drive away. The grounds are a real highlight: there's lots of room to relax in the well-kept garden, sit at a table, stretch out on loungers, or play volleyball, plus private parking and a big play area. Rabbits, parakeets, and chickens live on this small farm. Apartment 3 was clean and pleasant, and the air conditioning worked, though it was very noisy. The layout was a bit awkward, with little bathroom storage, the table pushed against a wall, and a tiny bedroom. Still, it suited us for three days. The village is a 15-minute walk away. A lovely find.
