Trekkershut / 4-persoons tent

My girlfriend and I had a peaceful stay, and the staff were lovely and quick to respond. I'd recommend the hotel lodge to couples considering de Boshoek. We made time for the nearest hike and spent three hours walking it, which was well worth it.

We paid over €3,000 for three nights in July for a family stay in the 14-person bungalow beside reception. The house itself was decent, and the beds and sitting areas seemed clean enough. The two bedrooms with outside entrances were nice, but unbearably hot, with no airflow. I kept waking every two or three hours to open the one door and let air in. The showers had mold and drained so slowly that the tray filled during a quick shower. I'd have to turn off the water for five minutes to avoid an overflow. Nothing was included: no made beds on arrival, shampoo, soap, towels or dish soap. I was shocked to have to walk 2 km to ALDI just to get hand soap after using the toilet. The hot tub wasn't working when we got there, but we went next door and got someone to repair it. Even then, the water wouldn't heat above 38°, which is too cold for a hot tub. Outside by the pool, the seating area was old and badly in need of an overhaul. The tables were rusty, and parts of some chair arms had rusted away, so their armrests couldn't be used. Loose stones around and beside the pool were another worry. One of the kids stepped on the pool-deck edge to get into the water, and a stone lifted underfoot, nearly sending them into the pool. If you need beds for a large group, the 14-person bungalow is one of the few options. But I wouldn't pay €3,000 for three nights there again, especially for a place that comes with none of the basics. At that price, it just isn't worth it. Separate rooms elsewhere would be a better choice.

We were there midweek, so it was pretty quiet. The place was clean and the service was very nice, and I thought the electronic key for the holiday home was a cool touch. There was plenty within the compound, from a playground and pizza to bowling. A nice concept!

Our group villa was spacious, with enough tables, chairs, cutlery and plates for everyone. It was a great stay in a nice spot, with cute villages nearby as well as Kröller-Müller-Park and the Arnheim zoo.
