The beds were comfortable, and the service made the one-night stay especially nice. Everyone was welcoming and had great suggestions for things to do nearby. We had a lovely stay overall.

The restaurant is worth trying, though it’s rather expensive; the food was superb. The building is stunning and full of history, with original features preserved beautifully. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in through check-out. The rooms lack modern soundproofing, so I recommend using the earplugs they provide, just in case.

The rooms felt a bit dated, but that suited the castle’s style, so it wasn’t a problem. Everything was clean and well cared for, and breakfast was served on time and nicely arranged. Check-in was easy, and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. This beautiful classical castle sits in the forests of Wassenaar, a short distance from The Hague. I’d highly recommend a stay if you want to experience classical hospitality.

The building and setting are beautiful, just as charming as the pictures suggest. But thin walls and poor mattresses meant a couple of terrible nights’ sleep. You also need to book a breakfast time the day before.
