Our children were frightened and had to sleep in a house where we’d found two mice. For a family holiday, that was completely unacceptable. The house wasn’t very clean to begin with, but the mice were the real shock. We arrived late at night with our large family after a long, exhausting trip. It took nearly an hour to check in because we couldn’t get the key card, and the barrier PIN didn’t work, so at first we couldn’t properly enter the park. With tired kids after a full day of travel, it was extremely frustrating. We’ve stayed at this holiday park chain three times before at other locations and never had problems like this. Also, bed linen costs extra here, and that wasn’t clearly explained when we booked. We went straight back to the staff member who checked us in and asked to move to another house. He refused, saying everything was fully booked. That was hard to believe since it wasn’t a holiday period and the park seemed to have lots of houses. The next day, we went to reception hoping they’d fix it. Staff said this was normal and that guests complained about it quite often. That made things even worse. When I asked why we hadn’t been told during booking, they had no real answer. They offered to send a worker to set mouse traps and gave us 25€ compensation. This may be routine for reception, but it’s absolutely unacceptable for a family with children. A holiday shouldn’t involve mice in the house or staff telling you it’s normal. Very disappointing. We won’t return.
