Bed and Breakfast De Grote Byvanck

Eirene, the owner, was really kind and lovely. The B&B was quiet and clean, and she had fruit ready, so I could grab some whenever I got hungry 😁

A nice place.

The coffee was freshly brewed and delicious, and breakfast was simple but good and enough. The host asked whether we wanted yogurt or other dairy, rather than putting out food that might not get used. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice. There was a little dust around some lamps, though the high-pile carpet had clearly been vacuumed and everything else was clean. The rooms are spacious and have what you need, with a lovely outdoor area for each one. There’s no unnecessary luxury, which suits the price, including breakfast. We were welcomed very warmly by the host and hostess, and I even got a slice of tasty freshly baked cake. When I asked for an invoice by email, it arrived within half an hour. We stayed in one of the four rooms for a training weekend. It’s a more than decent B&B in a beautiful setting, with welcoming hosts.

I really liked the room, even though it felt a bit business-like. We got there very early, and the hostess didn’t seem happy about it. The next morning, she also came across as rather unwelcoming. Breakfast was decent, but I missed fresh fruit, and there wasn’t any dairy.
