We stayed two nights in the room directly over the restaurant and bar. Even at a reasonable volume, the restaurant music came straight through the floor into our room, and since it stays open until midnight, we couldn’t sleep before then. Management seems unaware of the problem. I complained both nights, politely and clearly, but the complaints weren’t well received, and I shouldn’t have had to raise it at all. They should either operate as a restaurant only or soundproof the ceiling over the restaurant and bar. It’s a shame, because the location in Jisp is good.

The restaurant is highly recommended: excellent food, friendly staff who clearly work with care and try to make everyone comfortable, and a pleasant outdoor terrace overlooking the water, boats, and picturesque houses. The B&B, though, was noisy and left me uncomfortable. The owner said a Ukrainian couple had been staying for some time in the second, larger room. It’s kind of the owners to let them stay, and nice for the couple, but their presence seemed to blur the line between a B&B and someone’s home. Bags of personal belongings were in the hallway, and the shared kitchen, where guests can get tea and coffee, was full of personal things. There were crumbs and a bag of bread on the table, so it felt like I was entering someone’s living space. I didn’t feel comfortable making myself a cup of tea. On both evenings I stayed, there was noise late into the night, including crockery, hammering, doors, and furniture. For €120 a night, breakfast excluded, the setup came across as somewhat messy and unprofessional. I wouldn’t book this B&B again.

Arnout Meijboom We booked rooms at the Lepelaar B&B well ahead for some friends and contacted the B&B about it a week before. But when we arrived at 4:00 PM on the day, we only then found out there would be a party in the hall beneath the rooms. The noise kept our guests awake until 2:00 AM, and they were literally knocked out of bed. It was bad enough that they considered leaving in the middle of the night. The faucets were also unusable because of limescale, making it almost impossible to shower. We raised our complaints, but they just listened and said they’d pass them on. Beyond words.

The innkeeper really lives for his guests. We spent five relaxing nights at the B&B, with a delicious breakfast prepared especially for us each morning. The restaurant is open Thursday through Saturday and served excellent dinners. Thank you so much!
