The view from the kitchen looks out over the sea, and it’s only a 2-3 minute walk to the shore. Our bedroom faced the town and its huge tower. We stayed upstairs, where the stairs are a bit steep, though cramped hallways seem common in Zandvoort houses. The room was clean, tidy, and fairly spacious, with a new air conditioner that came in handy in the warm attic. It had everything we needed: pots, four burners, knives, cutlery, cups, glasses, plates, rubbish bags, two tables by big windows, a wardrobe, four towels, a dryer, fresh bedding with two duvets and two pillows, and a large comfortable bed. The thick curtains helped since the morning sun comes straight into the bedroom. It was quiet, and the owner was cheerful, quick to reply, and helpful when needed. The market is about five minutes away on foot. We’d happily return.

We had a really peaceful stay, with no noise from outside or the other guests. The whole process was easy too, from check-in to check-out, and the hosts answered questions quickly and helpfully through the Booking chat. If you can’t arrive by the 8:00 p.m. check-in cutoff, you can let them know and they’ll leave the keys in a drawer by the entrance. Very convenient. A simple, stress-free choice for a weekend.

The location is a real plus, with the beach only a five-minute walk away and the center close by too. But the room was tiny and uncomfortable, and had a strange smell. The bathroom is in the hallway and really needs renovating.

Breakfast with a beach view was the highlight for my little one. The studio is on the third floor, right across from the big watertower of Zandvoort, and the beach and city are both just a short walk away. It’s small, but has what you need. The bed was comfortable, the tiny bathroom was very clean, and the compact kitchen seemed equipped well enough to cook for two, though we barely used it. The stairs are very steep, so you need to be reasonably fit. I was eight months pregnant and had my two-year-old with me, and we managed without any trouble. We stayed for three nights at Blankebil and had a lovely time. We’d book Blankebil again when we visit Zandvoort, though as our family grows we’ll need a bigger room and hopefully fewer stairs.

Glen was so helpful and really went out of his way for us. The accommodation was lovely, and the beach, local restaurants, and shops are all in a perfect spot nearby. The rate was very reasonable too. Top marks from me and my new wife 👌👍👍👍
