Hotel Van Oppen

The woman at reception stood out to us. She was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a welcoming atmosphere. Ours was a modest-sized room with somewhat narrow beds, but it was perfectly adequate. The bathroom was roomy, with a vanity, toilet, and bath with shower; soap, a hairdryer, towels, and toilet paper were provided. The building is older, which shows in its slightly sloping floors and stairs and in windows that were difficult to see through. Our room was along a long hallway. Breakfast was included, and each day a table was set for us with rolls, croissants, fresh juice, and sandwich fillings. Coffee, tea, and other things were available too. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. Parking is nearby, at most a four-minute walk away. The hotel is right in the town center, among authentic houses and charming little shops, with plenty of places for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. People are friendly and sociable as well. Zierikzee is a 20-minute drive from Renesse and Brouwershaven, and 30 minutes from Goes, which has a wide range of shops. A Seal dog daycare is also 30 minutes away. The roads are quiet and easy to drive.

I couldn't get to my destination because of bad weather. They notified me in time, but I didn't get a refund. Making money from someone else's bad luck, great. I wouldn't recommend it.

Breakfast was delicious and the service was very good, and we got a warm welcome from a very friendly woman. The location is truly perfect, so if we come back we'll ask for a room at the end of the hall. We had room 2, which was small and hit us with a wave of heat as soon as we walked in. Opening the window wasn't a solution because noise from a fan, air conditioner, or something similar outside made it impossible to sleep with it open. There were earplugs on the bedside table. The old building has its charm, but you can hear everything. Being in the first room, we heard other guests arrive in the evening and go up the stairs, and unfortunately not everyone kept quiet.

We got a warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The room had a few minor issues that could easily have been fixed or avoided. After booking online, we found out payment was required in advance, but the terms weren't very clear. We also didn't get a response after sharing our experience at the hotel.
