Andenes Suite Hotel

The automated arrival setup was the one drawback: you need a decent cellular connection to check in, while the Wi-Fi only becomes available after you’re checked in and in your suite. Still, this is a five-star stay in beautiful Andenes. The suites are great, breakfast was great too, and there’s a nice gym and laundry available. You can walk to everything around town.

We booked a suite and a regular room for our family of six before taking the ferry to Senja island. The suite looked very modern, and I’d be glad to stay there again. The hotel is ideally placed in this small town. We also had access to the gym, sauna, jacuzzi and pool, and breakfast offered a good range of choices. Highly recommended.

The room was good, and the blinds worked really well, which matters in summer. Check-in was by kiosk because reception had closed by 20:30. There was no water boiler, just a Nespresso machine, and we couldn't find a way to switch off the air conditioning, which blew toward the bed. Breakfast starts at 7, or 8 on weekends. For the first ferry, you can leave the car there overnight; it’s a 10-minute walk, and be back by 8:15.

We really enjoyed staying here and would come back. The room was spacious, had luggage storage, a mini fridge that came in handy for sandwich supplies and cold cuts, and plenty of towel hooks in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and we could use our own apps on the smart TV. Those blackout curtains did a great job during the midnight sun. Downstairs there’s a sauna, pool, hot tub, gym, plus a washer and dryer. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only request would be a little shelf in the shower :)
