Bergen Harbour Hotel, Worldhotels Crafted

We stayed for 2+1 nights at this lovely hotel by the marina. The room was warm and well appointed, with space for our luggage, and we visited in March 2026. Breakfast was excellent, with cooked food, deli items, bread, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice, all served with a smile and a “Good morning!” Hej, hej. The location made it easy to get to the funicular, Markthalle, Bryggen and its fortress, and the Torget bus stop. The receptionists on duty were very helpful and courteous. When we realized we’d made the wrong booking, they sorted it out quickly, which we really appreciated.

Room size seems like a lottery here. Two of us checked in at the same time under the same booking and room category, yet one got a large room and the other a tiny one. Price didn’t seem to matter. The smaller room was at a premium rate, with hardly any room to move, no desk, a charging outlet awkwardly placed in the middle of the bed area, and an extremely small sink. We’ll choose somewhere else on our next visit to Bergen.

The breakfast was included, but the menu stayed exactly the same for all four days I was there. I booked a double room for one person and found it quite small, with barely enough space to open a suitcase. It’s a boutique hotel just behind the Bergen wharf. You walk up a gentle slope, and there’s lift access to every floor. Most attractions, restaurants, and supermarkets are within walking distance. I’d have preferred to stay on the opposite side of the wharf for a more convenient location and a better atmosphere.

The room was small, but it had enough space for both of us and all our luggage, and everything was in order. The bathroom was also small, and the shower layout let water escape the shower capsule, though that didn’t bother us. Breakfast was simple and had what we expected and needed. The staff were very helpful and offered recommendations, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to reach Bergen’s main attractions.
