The location and interior are magnificent. We had lunch at the restaurant, and the food was okay, but service was a little slow, so the main course took longer than needed. They kindly offered us a drink to make up for the wait.

The location is great and this place should be able to do well, but the restaurant service is a mess. Staff seem overworked and not properly trained. An hour can pass between the first person at a table being served and the last getting their plate. We heard several other guests say they wouldn't return. At the bar, they didn't know basic things, like what prosecco is, and you might have to go behind the counter to point out what you want. They said, "We don't have any non-alcoholic drinks," though they eventually managed to make something okay. Some employees don't speak Norwegian and hardly any English. I used to have a great review of this place, but things changed with the new owners. It has the potential to make plenty of money. As it is, it should close, get itself together and reopen, with more staff and, especially, more experienced people.

The local owner can arrange just about anything you want, as long as someone on the island offers that service, and we took advantage of that. The setting also gives you scenery and the midnight sun from the outdoor seating area, a big bonus. It's centrally located on Kjerringøy and above average in price, but worth it. The place is furnished with style and quality, and the bar and restaurant are very nice. The food was very good, and breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended.
