The Norwegian-style breakfast was a lovely way to start the day, and the fortress right beside the hotel was wonderful to explore on foot. From the hotel’s high position, the morning panorama was unforgettable, with autumn colors meeting the sea. One drawback: arriving on Sunday afternoon, I found the restaurant closed for dinner and had to take a taxi elsewhere.

The peaceful area and friendly staff made a good impression. My room was very clean, and the bedding was the softest and most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast had plenty of choices and tasted great. Everything matched what I expected.

I loved the location and the lovely views, and it was a great place to unwind in nature. The staff were friendly and quick to help. My room felt cozy and modern, with a comfortable bed and a fancy bathroom, and both breakfast and the restaurant meals were delicious. The one issue was the minibar: it didn’t cool the drinks, and the room felt a little warm.

The view from the hotel is amazing, and it’s a short walk to the city center and Fredriksten fortress, though the uphill and downhill walk takes decent fitness 😁. The rooms are basic but clean, and there was enough shampoo and conditioner for my long hair 😁. Breakfast was great too. I’ll definitely come back.

There’s a section of the fort’s outer wall beside the hotel, and the view from the picnic table there was breathtaking. Parking was easy, and both the fort and city center were within walking distance. Our room was large, very clean, and had a great view; the staff were cheerful and friendly, and breakfast was amazing. I planned two nights to see the fort and shop in Nordby the next day, but there was so much more to do that I should’ve booked a third. 5/5, I’d happily stay again.
