Dale Gudbrands Gard

The hotel staff turned a possible vacation disaster into a lovely evening and a funny story. My friend had left his phone in the car of someone who gave us a ride to Hundorp. We had only a very vague description, but the people at Dale-Gudbrands gard went out of their way to track down the car owner. They found him just minutes after we sat down for delicious coffee and cake in the hotel restaurant, and we got the phone back. It’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

A good place to stop, conveniently located by the E6 and at a fair price for bed and breakfast. The room was spacious, and breakfast had a good spread: bread, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, tea and coffee, plus freshly cooked bacon and eggs. The gardens and surrounding area are beautiful. Reception also has plenty of pamphlets about local activities. Highly recommended for a stopover.

Dinner was a real treat. There was only one menu option, but they let us choose between one or two courses. The flavors had a surprising tang, richness and gravy to them. Breakfast felt a little expensive, though after that dinner I can’t complain. Nicely done ✅

I’ve never seen a hotel room this clean. I have allergies, so I usually look for wood floors and simple, minimal interiors to keep dust and allergens down. This room was cleaner than an operating theater: not a speck on picture frames, fixed electrical wiring, or even inside the ventilation duct. Maybe we were lucky and got a room refurbished during the forced Covid 19 shutdown. They use fragranced laundry detergent and shower gel, so they’re not trying to make the place hypoallergenic. If every room is like ours, they deserve some kind of award.
