Lunde Turiststasjon

I wish we'd booked more than one night. The surroundings and bay were stunning, and the stay exceeded my expectations. The family hut was roomy, cosy, clean, and very well equipped. The mattresses in the family house were too soft for me, though I assume that's down to personal preference and back issues.

The host, a wonderful and kind woman named Limda, made us feel welcome and helped with local tips and ideas for exploring. The setting near Skei, Norway is magical, with a stream and waterfall right outside and glacier views from the balcony and living room. A beautiful lake is only steps away, with kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. It was one of the best places I’ve stayed. For peace, nature, and warm hospitality, this is a great choice.

The farm is tucked between steep mountains at the end of Jølstravatnet, with spectacular views and a very quiet feel. We stayed in "Hytte superior": two bedrooms, a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, and a very comfortable bed. Pets are allowed for an extra cost, and you can rent the jacuzzi on site. The water is a 10-minute walk away, or you can drive there. Lunde has its own shelter there, plus boat hire. There's a nice hiking trail near the farm, but there was too much snow in April. It probably isn't safe to walk until June, depending on snow conditions. Bøyabreen glacier is a five-minute drive away, with great views and some hiking trails.

The waterfall was stunning, and host Linda was a delight to chat with. The cabin is beautifully made, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture.
