Clarion Hotel Ernst

The gym was excellent, with working equipment, plus a sauna and steam room. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic too, with lots of choice, pleasant seating, and fresh food. I also slept extremely well in the very comfortable bed. The Rituals products were a nice extra, and I appreciated getting two sets of towels in different colors. The room was less impressive. It looked fine at first, with carpet, a large bed, a small bathroom, and a balcony overlooking reception. Then I noticed dust in the corners, a damaged headboard, and exposed sockets and extension cords behind it that looked potentially unsafe and fire-prone. The shower still had stains and marks, so it didn’t seem properly cleaned. There was nowhere suitable for a suitcase, and leaving it on the floor used up much of the already limited space. The welcome was friendly. I was shown to the elevator for my third-floor room, and staff explained the breakfast, gym, and other hotel details before I needed to ask. The reception area itself was large and elegant. But when I raised the cleanliness and safety concerns at checkout, the receptionist quickly said, “yes, yes, we’ll let someone know,” without apologizing. It felt dismissive and unprofessional compared with the warm arrival. This was a mixed stay at a well-known hotel that seems high-end. The facilities, bed, and breakfast were great, but the room’s condition and lack of space, together with the poor follow-up, didn’t live up to the hotel’s otherwise high standard.
