The site is great for kids, with activities every day, and there’s a supermarket nearby even though it’s outside town. But the price is about double what we’ve paid at other Norwegian campsites, and calling it five-star feels way off in its current condition. Shower payment is through a QR code, but some shower rooms have no Wi-Fi or mobile signal for any operator. You have to go back outside after scanning, then return and get the water temperature set, losing a couple of minutes of paid shower time. Wi-Fi coverage across the site is poor too. The toilet blocks need reliable coverage anywhere payment is required. We stayed for a week in peak season, and the toilets weren’t cleaned often enough. One had fecal matter on the toilet and floor, and at night rubbish was overflowing around many toilets, with the floors very dirty. There should also be baby changing tables in the larger toilets. With this many people, cleaning needs to happen at least three times a day.

The staff were wonderfully friendly, and both the rooms and shared facilities were very clean. It’s easy to get here by city bus. A great choice if you want to explore the Kristiansand area while staying close to nature.

We had such a good time here and would happily come back. The staff were really helpful, and the quiet, beautiful surroundings are all by the sea. Make sure to try the beach sauna! 👍

To pay for hot water in the shower, you have to go outside because there’s no Wi-Fi or mobile signal in the shower room. Then you come back in to use it. What?

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the buildings and grounds were clean and pleasant. Food was okay, though my burger arrived cold, and the activities didn’t seem as fun as the brochure made them sound. We’d chosen electricity included, but still had to pay 30kr for a shower by QR code and credit card. Heating water for coffee in the oven also cost 50 kr, and there were extra charges for other energy use. At other three-star campsites we visited, those things were included. The higher price for this place, which calls itself five-star, made that especially annoying. Three stars from me.
