Lillehammer Vandrerhjem Hostel

The value is hard to beat, and they provide the same services for the hostel and hotel. Sheets, towels, and dresses weren’t extra, and the beds were already made when I arrived. I only stayed one night in a six-bed female dorm, and wished I’d booked longer. The hostel is right in the train station, which is really handy without a car. If you drive, there’s long-term parking tucked behind it, just 40 NOK for 12 hours after 5pm. The staff were wonderful, kind, and sweet, and showed me how everything worked. The dorms and restrooms were super clean. My room was big and not stuffy, and the bathroom was huge, almost room-sized. My room and toilet were disability friendly, and there are elevators. There’s a bakery and café on site, plus a full buffet breakfast, which is rare for hostels. Sometimes they offer free coffee from the café, if you get lucky. I had a delicious pistachio vanilla latte. It’s also steps away from the small shopping avenue center and major museums in lillehammer. 😊
