Olden Fjordhotel

The views are fantastic from all the rooms, and the location is great. Breakfast is full and has a variety of choices. Parking is limited because tour buses park there overnight.

The view is good, and the hotel is close to the nearby town, but it feels like it has seen better days. The rooms were dated, dirty and falling apart. We found plenty of dirt along the walls and under the bed, so it seemed like only visible surfaces were being cleaned. We had to change rooms after finding quite large pieces of glass on the floor in the first one, which was dangerous with our 2 year old. The young woman at the desk was kind and helpful and got us another room. Another woman was less pleasant, so the service seems hit and miss. The balconies were also coming apart. The tiles were falling loose, and we had to wear shoes to avoid the real risk of getting our feet pinched. I got the impression the owners were trying to make a profit without delivering a good product.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient, close to the town center. We had a great view of the fjords and mountains. The room was small and a little outdated, and the bathroom ventilation didn't work, so it got very humid. Breakfast and dinner were average. Parking is not very large but there was enough space, though it gets very crowded around dinner time because some people come just for dinner. Overall, a great hotel.

A helpful staff and a very nice breakfast with a fair choice of options made for a good stay. The room was clean and a decent size, with a cozy balcony looking out at the fjord.
