The rooms had incredible, breathtaking fjord views, even with construction going on during my stay. Every meal was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable. One thing I missed was being able to get some basic items at reception, even if I had to pay. Many nearby stores were closed, so it was surprising the hotel couldn't offer something as simple as toothpaste.

A highlight of my Norway trip in 2022. The water, hills and mountains, and ferry made for an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy. The price was great for a 4-star hotel, and I also liked having a connection to the culture center building.

The curtains let the light through, which is worth bearing in mind if you're not used to the early sunrise. Bring an eye mask. Otherwise, it's a great hotel, with clean, nice rooms, a very good breakfast buffet, and a location close to the ferry.

The ferry port is right at the door, so you can motor over to Trondheim and spend the day there. I had a great stay, with lovely rooms, brilliant staff, and handy drying facilities. The Orland Kysthotell is probably the swankiest hotel in all of Brexstad. Guests and conference visitors have plenty of coffee machines and tea-making facilities. A heads-up: the coffee is strong, so unless you don't mind losing sleep, avoid it after 1800hrs. There's also a TV room where you can cast media from your phone to the smart TV with Google Chromecast. Other casting software may be available. Breakfast was amazing, with fruit, cereal, spreads, pastries, meatballs, yogurt, coffee, and parts for a cooked breakfast, plus plenty more. Tell the gatekeeper your room number before you eat, or there will be anger. Laundry in the hotel costs many monies. To save money, use the complimentary shower soap and hand-wash your clothes in the sink. Drying them afterward is easy: the rooms have underfloor heating. Just wipe the bathroom floor clean with toilet roll, and you've got a drying room for the night. Spend the money saved on laundry at the hotel bar, and you might be able to afford some ice with your coca cola.

Kysthotell was a convenient place to stay in Brekstad, and I'm glad I chose it this time instead of commuting. The rooms were clean and functional, the breakfast was lovely, and the views were beautiful. I was definitely pleased with the hotel. Usually I stay in Trondheim and take the ferry, and the accommodation and nightlife there are better. If I come back with my partner, we'll stay in Trondheim again.
