Solstrand Hotel And Bad

Solstrand feels wonderfully homelike, with an easy comfort that made it feel as though I belonged there. It was one of the most unforgettable trips I’ve ever taken. The staff were warm and genuine, and the cuisine brought tradition and sophistication together beautifully. The whole property was impeccably kept, from the elegant, understated interiors to the manicured gardens beside the deep blue fjord, dotted with tiny islets. Clouds and sunlight moving across the sky made the scenery even more striking. There’s so much history in the atmosphere, and time seemed to stand still when we stepped inside. Between the world-class spa, the heated infinity pool blending into the fjord, and all those cozy reading rooms, relaxation came naturally. Thank you, Solstrand Family, for making it so special!

The pools and saunas were spotless and warm, and I loved having both ice baths and warm baths. The rooms were really clean too. I only wish I lived closer 😄 Breakfast was great, and dinner was expensive, sure, but such an experience 😄 The staff were amazing and ready to help with anything. Honestly, it’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Norway so far.

We loved unwinding in the spa. Our fjord-view room was upgraded to a corner room, and the views from there were spectacular. The owner was around each day, chatting with guests and making sure they were accommodated. I loved her energy. The staff were warm and attentive too, especially Franzi, always serving with a big smile and a happy heart. What a stunning hotel.

The heated bathroom floors were a nice touch, and our room was spacious, with a balcony and majestic fjord views. It got warm inside, even on our early September visit. We were told there’s no air conditioning here or anywhere else in Norway. There are huge pools and saunas that feel fit for royalty. I especially loved swimming through to the heated outdoor pool. The historic building has beautiful antiques in its shared spaces, with little corners that make you want to sit and stay awhile. Breakfast was an extraordinary buffet with loads of delicious, healthy options. In the evening, we had a divine three-course meal right on the property.
