The food was fantastic, and the whole experience felt beautiful and truly one of a kind.

There’s no fridge, coffee setup, or spare pillows in the rooms. The pillows they do have are small and uncomfortable, and the bathroom is so cramped you keep bumping into a wall or fixture, a bit like a cruise ship bathroom. The closet’s wired-in LED never switches off, like an unwanted, annoying night-light. Some doors open out into the hallway. If your room is at the end of the corridor, the door slamming makes it shake every single time, all day and night.

While we waited for our train home after a busy day in Røros, we popped in for a drink. Anna was cheerful and helpful, and her conversation was a lovely finishing touch to the day. The bar has a great feel, and the service was quick. Well worth stopping by if you’re passing through.

The room beneath the roof was clean, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view, though it was a little small. The breakfast was generous, and I’d definitely recommend the restaurant. Monica gave an excellent massage with such empathetic hands. The spa was nice too, with an extra fee unless you book a massage, when it’s included.
