Kysthotellet Rorvik

There’s plenty of room to park, and hiking trails and passenger boats to the islands are close by. We found the food tasty and the staff helpful and friendly. A comfortable hotel in a good location. If you’re visiting the area, give it a try.

For what we paid, the room was a letdown. A regular double room cost 1995 NOK, which felt far too expensive for a place we’d rate at no more than two stars. Even a 50% cut would make the price fit the standard better. Kysthotellet Rørvik is overpriced for what you get, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms also felt old and dull, and definitely need serious upgrades. There were very few 220V outlets for charging a phone or plugging in a PC, and no phone to call reception, which felt awkward. We didn’t enjoy breakfast either, and the staff didn’t seem very interested when we asked for anything. The location downtown in Rørvik was handy, about a five-minute walk from the harbour. The reception area was cozy and spacious, with an elevator to every floor.

The atmosphere here and the kindness of the management made a lovely impression on me. They gave us a warm welcome at Kysthotel, and I’d recommend it if you’re in the Roervik area.

The people are great, and it’s a quiet place to stay. The hotel is simple, nothing fancy, and a bit expensive, though that’s Norway.
