Scandic Syv Sostre

We had a wonderful stay in Sandnessjoen. The hotel was lovely and close to everything, and the restaurant had a beautiful view with a fantastic display of light as the sun went down. The food was tasty and very local. Brandon at the bar was great too, serving excellent cocktails and giving us lovely service.

My room was spacious and spotless, with plenty of seating and large windows that brought in lots of natural light. The hotel has a contemporary look, and the foyer feels homey, with very comfortable seats. It’s right in the centre of town, and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful.

We arrived fairly late and still found a parking space close to the hotel. Parking was free from 5pm to 9am. The hotel was neat and I liked its design. We booked a "Superior" room, which was very spacious and had lots of room to sit and relax. Our room also had a great ocean view. For dinner, the restaurant had a reasonably broad menu, though we both chose the dish of the day. I liked the whale steak more than I’d expected, and the sauce and sides went well with it. The price seemed fair. The creme brulee was satisfying too. Breakfast was fine, with nothing particular to add. A very nice stay for a night in the area, though I do think it could have been a little cheaper.

We had a lovely stay, with great service and a beautiful, comfortable room. The restaurant seemed understaffed while we were there, which meant customers had to queue. The bar tables could have been cleaned a little better, and parking in Sandnessjøen generally seems limited and expensive. Some pages in the restaurant menu also appeared to have incorrect allergen labels.
