Villa Fjara

The view was lovely and the place is close to the airport, but our two-night stay was frightening and exhausting. The next day, we spotted a mouse running around inside. We spent a long time trying to get it out, without success, and were on edge all night instead of getting any rest. After checkout, our friend who had stayed with us developed a fever and felt unwell. The landlord accused us of damaging his faucet, and I paid the full cost of replacing it, but he wouldn’t discuss the rat with us. I’ve attached a video of the mouse. Anyone considering staying here should be cautious.

A peaceful, quiet spot with a magnificent view. It’s a lovely and interesting place, and would suit meditation or yoga.

We had a great time at Villa Fjara with our group of 20. The cabin’s location is incredible, and Gunnar was accommodating and quick to reply, so everything was easy to arrange. Thanks for the hospitality!

The view gets five stars, and the distance from Oslo does too. Nearby attractions are decent, and my first impression was average. Access is difficult, and the cabin’s construction, equipment, and furniture are below standard. The room setup gets just one star. The cabin and annex are said to sleep 33, but I think 10-15 people is more realistic. There are far too many beds in each room, and ventilation is lacking. The only airflow we noticed was through a large gap under the front door, wide enough for a mouse to get in. I don’t think the living room can hold more than 15, and the bathroom and toilet can’t manage more than that either.
