Stavanger Bed & Breakfast

The location was good, about five minutes on foot from the train station and a short walk to bars and restaurants. The room was clean and simple, and the bed was comfortable enough, though the pillow was lumpy. But I was surprised that the toilet was shared, since the website advertised a “private en suite shower.” The shower and sink are right next to the bed, with no door or wall between them, and there’s no soap in the shower. I sent the hotel two messages saying I’d arrive close to closing at 21:00 because my flight landed at 20:00. When I got there, instead of a smile or welcome, I was told, “I didn’t think you were coming, we sent you a text.” I hadn’t received one. I got the same grumpy attitude at checkout. Breakfast was basic and good enough, but nowhere near “fabulous” as advertised. There was no non-dairy milk, so vegan options were limited to bread and jam. Stay here only if you have no other decent choices.

The beds are comfortable, and there’s a nice sink and mirror in the room. The room was hot, though, since it was on the third floor. It’s a budget hotel, so lower your expectations and it’s just fine. The shared shower is pretty awful. On the third floor, it seems like eight rooms share one shower and one toilet, though I can’t see into the other rooms, so I might be wrong. They advertise free parking, but from what I could tell the lot only has two spaces.

A comfortable, affordable bed and breakfast with no frills. The room was clean, and the shared toilets were clean and easy to get to. The staff were very nice. It’s a great place if you don’t need much luxury, want to be close to the sights, and are looking for a very reasonable price. Most places are a 10-15 minute walk away.

It’s okay for budget accommodation. The room is spacious and in a good location, but it’s on a steep hill, so keep that in mind. In the economy rooms, the shower and sink are inside, while the toilet is shared. The toilet is very tiny and claustrophobic, and there were strange smells and sounds coming from the drains.
