It’s a hidden gem, with great rooms, a lovely setting and a great route. The strange thing is that it seems almost unknown, and nearly all the rooms were empty. I assume it’s because Norwegians mainly come here in winter. The staff were great and really helpful, and the rooms were very clean and looked new. A tip for booking: the single or double room does have a toilet with the bathroom, despite what some sites say. If you’re visiting in summer, bring your own groceries. Beer is available, though, and there’s a shared kitchen that was very clean and had most of what we needed. You can get groceries in Sand, about 30 minutes from the accommodation.

We came in summer and liked the room, the clean bathroom, the nearby kitchen and the really nice living room. The room was very hot and stuffy at first. It took me a while to find the thermostat, which was tucked in a corner, and turn off the floor heating. After that it was okay. A handy place to stay for a night while travelling.

We gave skiing a try for the first time and found the atmosphere relaxed. Everyone was friendly and gave us plenty of space to get used to it. The Tourist Center was closed, but the sanitary rooms were clean, and the road had no snow so getting into the parking lot was easy. Just remember to bring your own equipment, borrowed or rented.

We stumbled across this lovely holiday spot by accident. There wasn’t any snow left, so it didn’t seem to be peak season, but plenty of good hikes start here or nearby. The owners were great and very friendly, the place was clean, and the rooms were excellent. I’d recommend exploring suldal from here if you’re a hiker.

A great overnight stop for hikers outside the winter sports season. The owners are kind and helpful, and the facilities are great.
