Ryfylke Fjordhotell

An adventurous crowd is welcome at this fjordside hotel. Dinner was delicious, especially the asparagus, salmon and fallow deer. The service was friendly and attentive.

The natural surroundings are beautiful, but the hotel is old and disgusting. The rooms were dirty and breakfast was poor. Powdered scrambled eggs in a hotel this small is crazy. Dinner was very good, the only good thing about the hotel. Given the choice, I’d never come back.

The waitresses were genuinely friendly and did a great job, and the older hotel’s rooms were kept in decent shape, with an old-fashioned finish. Still, I left very disappointed in how management handled our stay. I was there for work with colleagues, and although breakfast and dinner were included, the portions were tiny, more like food for kindergarten children. After 11 hours of hard work, we needed a proper meal, not a little bowl of soup. The owner should consider that when hosting people on business trips for large companies. This is about more than a poor restaurant experience; the way the cooperation was managed felt unprofessional. Warm regards, Mateusz

The breakfast wasn’t ready at the agreed time, and the eggs only turned up when we were checking out. What a shame. A few years ago I stayed at the same place and liked the hotel and its view over the harbour and lake. This time, the new section had tiny single rooms with no view. There was a hairdryer, but no bathroom power outlet, and the sockets were far from the bed, under the desk, so reaching one meant getting down on your knees and crawling over.
