It felt like being welcomed into someone's home, in the best way. The hotel is cosy, warm, and friendly. The owners, Oivind and Mari Anne, went out of their way to make us happy. They made us feel like family, even taking us on an evening stargazing walk and a torchlit sled race. The team serves delicious local food, much of it smoked and cured on site. Utterly magical.

We had a junior suite, which included access to the spa, and enjoyed both the jacuzzi and sauna. Watching the sunset from the sitting room with a beer was lovely, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. We stayed one night and didn't eat at the restaurant, so I can't comment on that. My only gripe was the $11 bottled beers, though that's par for the course in Norway.

What an amazing holiday. The location was beautiful, and the staff were all cheerful, helpful, and friendly. They made us feel like part of the family. The dinners were delicious, with a lovely variety of local dishes.
