Sanu House Hostel & Homestay

The rooms were clean and cozy, with beautiful old furniture, and the food Sarita cooks was exceptional. Much of the produce comes from her garden, and the family grows the rice. Sarita takes care of everyone who comes through the door and does her best to make guests feel at home. Even a little conversation with her gives you a sense of her wisdom and humility. Her attitude is inspiring, and she’s always happy to offer advice and recommendations about Patan and Kathmandu. Thank you, Sarita. I’d love to return.

The host was one of the sweetest, most attentive, and most helpful people I’ve met at a homestay. You can walk to anything you need, including Darbar Square, and the location is great. Nights are quiet enough to sleep well. The rooms are comfortable, with a small bathroom. It gets very cold inside, but they provide huge blankets.

The owners were wonderful, the internet was fast, and there’s a library and a great rooftop view. Breakfast is good and unlimited. It takes about 10 minutes by car from the airport, a five-minute walk to Patan, and up to 20 minutes by car to Thamel. Kebab Corner, an excellent Indian restaurant, is nearby. Next door, laundry takes six hours from wash to dry, and the shower is gas-powered. I couldn’t find anything better!

The room and bed were clean and really comfortable, and getting to the airport or tourist area was easy. Sarita is lovely and very helpful, and she makes a delicious, healthy breakfast. I’m looking forward to coming back. Thank you 🫶
