Kyirmu Lodge Phaplu

We were well looked after by the kind, attentive family and staff. It’s a lovely little hotel run by a local Sherpa family, and they cooked meals with vegetables grown in their own garden.

The food was delicious, with both Sherpa dishes and more familiar Nepali fare, and having real coffee after days of Nescafé on the trek was a treat. We felt at ease here, more like guests visiting friends than people checking into a lodge. Our son also had a great time playing with the proprietor’s kids. The rooms feel a cut above, with lovely interiors, plush bedding, a comfortable mattress and luxurious bathtubs, which are hard to find anywhere in Nepal.

The children who live there are wonderful, and we found the family and staff very kind and helpful. It’s a beautiful place, with a nice mix of western comfort and Nepali design. We enjoyed our stay, though the price felt too high for the experience we had. We were there in mid January, and the nights were extremely cold and dry. Maybe it’s nicer in warmer weather.

The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and surprisingly luxurious, with warm beds, hot showers and clean towels. The homemade food was delicious, and the hospitality was unbelievable. It felt like being at home, and we met interesting people there too. This won’t be our last visit. 🙏🙏🙏
