Port View Hotel

We’ve stayed here a couple of times. The rooms are spacious, clean, and a nice size. The location is great, just a 10-minute drive from the old town. There’s a delicious traditional Turkish breakfast and dinner with lots of choices, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

It’s not five-star, but the price is good and the value is excellent. The staff are especially helpful and friendly. Their spoken English isn’t the best, but you can find what you need with a mobile. There’s a supermarket and bakery across the street, handy for eating on a budget. Some street noise comes through, but it never kept me awake, even though I’m sensitive to sounds. I recommend it.

The breakfast was excellent, the staff were great, and the price was very reasonable. Our rooms were spacious, clean, nice, and recently renovated. The location is okay, and you can easily walk to the old town and its great walls or take a quite cheap taxi. One surprise: the WC-shower had no real ventilation, only a small window that you have to open. Definitely good value for money!

The hotel food was very poor, mostly bland, tasteless braised or stewed dishes, and the same options came around often. Breakfast was okay if you like salad. The hotel isn’t by the sea, it’s on a busy road, and my room looked out at a large supermarket and its car park. The area is quite poor, and the road conditions are dangerous. I won’t return to this hotel or North Cyprus.
