City Royal Hotel

The room service was minimal, just soap and a towel, and we had to pay for everything else we needed. Breakfast was a small plate of food, about what you might expect at a three-star place, and extras weren’t allowed. Parking was on the street in front of the hotel. It was expensive, and they wouldn’t charge the room card until we had paid for the day.

We had a really good stay here as a family. Hatija Madam was our best host. She deserves to be the manager of this hotel.

We rented the hall for a while, and the service was good all around. The bar has a really good view, too. It’s a fairly small hotel, but it has some remarkable qualities and the staff are very friendly, always ready to help. It’s also very affordable compared with places of a similar standard.

The gardens and common areas smelled dusty and weren’t cleaned well. There’s just one lift, and it’s very old, dirty, and didn’t look safe. Our room also needed serious maintenance: the room and bathroom floors weren’t clean, and the shower was old and cramped. Everything costs extra, even the welcome water, and breakfast was a complete disappointment for a hotel at this price. The restaurant toilet was old and dirty, too. There’s no pool, gym, or sauna, and the reception staff weren’t polite. It isn’t worth the money. At most, I’d say €25 per night. Definitely would not recommend it.
