The bar and restaurant staff were wonderful, they really went out of their way for us, and the other meals we ordered were quite nice. The place was very clean, and the people we met staying there were friendly. Some return year after year, so don't let my mixed experience put you off. The setting is beautiful, though the wider area felt overdeveloped, and getting through kyrenia took us an hour. We felt isolated from other bars and the beach, and eventually hired a car because we felt trapped. Tuesdays were the exception to the otherwise peaceful atmosphere: karaoke was extremely loud and went past midnight, with very few good singers. Smoking was allowed anywhere. Maintenance could have been better. Solar-heated water meant we couldn't shower until midday, and our shower tray was badly stained. Breakfast had cheese, salad, bread, jam, melon and eggs, but the only cereal was cornflakes with lukewarm long-life milk, and the orange juice was very watery. Northern Cyprus isn't cheap anymore. Meals out cost us as much as, or more than, they would in England.

We keep coming back because the host and staff are fantastic. There's a gym, sauna, swimming pool and conference room, and they also have cars for hire.

We recommend this hotel without reservation. During our 7-day visit, the family-run team worked hard to create a lovely atmosphere and keep the excellent resort in great condition. Everyone was focused on looking after guests and was friendly and helpful. The rooms were fantastic, and all the shared areas were well maintained.

The place looked just as clean and well kept as it did in the online photos, which was a nice surprise. The reception and the rest of the hotel felt picture perfect, and I'll be back this December for Christmas. I stayed for five days and got to choose my room. It was spacious, with sofas and a dining table, plus two single beds upstairs in the same room that I pushed together. The bar area was lovely, and so were the staff. I ate out with family every night and also missed breakfast, so I didn't try the food, though what I saw on other guests' tables looked nice. There are two swimming pools and a pool for children.

My partner and I had the full spa package today: a 50-minute massage, sauna, steam room and Turkish bath (hammam). The massage was easily the best we've ever had, and the women who looked after us did a great job. The prices were very fair, great value for money. I'd highly recommend booking a treat at the Holiday Village Rose Garden Spa.
