Royal Palace Hotel

We were there only a few hours, but that was enough to know we wouldn’t return. The service felt poor and unwelcoming, with a general sense of disrespect toward guests and an effort to charge for everything. The bathroom was badly maintained and so slippery it felt unsafe. The shower hose didn’t work at all, which made our short stay more uncomfortable. We didn’t contact the front desk because we were there for such a short time, but basic maintenance should still be expected. It wasn’t worth the money, and we wouldn’t recommend it. There are plenty of other places that treat guests and their money with respect.

I’m from the UK and recently stayed here for two days. They charge £130 a night and call it a three-star hotel, but in my view it doesn’t meet international three-star standards. The facilities felt more like one star, and the food and rooms didn’t match the price. If they’re charging £130 per night, they should provide facilities like international hotels. There was also a language barrier. During my stay, only one or two staff members spoke English well. I don’t have any personal issue with the hotel, just sharing my experience so people travelling from abroad know what to expect.

Everyone was so good to us, and the place felt like home. The staff were welcoming and well organised, and the management was friendly with customers. Evrim and the other reception staff were especially lovely. The cleaning staff were helpful too. They’re working on opening a SPA and beauty area, and I hope it was open when I visited. One suggestion: there should be an activities area for kids as well.

The place was quiet and good, and we stayed for five days. But they still owe us $15 in change from the first night. When we checked out in the morning, the receptionist pretended he couldn’t speak English. From what I could understand, we were supposed to come back at night and collect the change from the person who handled the first reservation day. We won’t come back.
