The cottage feels like a real labour of love, with lots of thoughtful touches. It's in a beautiful, quiet spot in the native bush, where the birds and cicadas are the main sounds. The hosts were lovely and friendly, and Eiffel the dog was especially sweet. You can have a shower out on the deck or take your time with a bath.

The birdsong and peaceful setting were beautiful. Behind the house, a shingle track leads up to a very small vineyard with a little turret lookout. The views over Akaroa Harbour from the paddocks are wonderful. My ancestor Louis dinar sailed in there more than 150 years ago.

We loved the open fire and luxurious linens in this peaceful rural place. The creek and native birds make it feel extra special. A beautiful spot to unwind and enjoy time together.

The gatekeepers house is a lovely place in great condition, just outside town. It's peaceful, and you can walk or drive into town. We only wish we'd been able to stay longer.
