Leithfield Beach Holiday Park

We came with our two and four year olds and our dog, and didn't want to leave. Everyone at the camp and the locals were friendly and happy to chat, and the permanent residents and staff were lovely. The grounds were well kept, and the facilities stayed tidy and clean. The main kitchen had everything we could think of, and the laundry was handy, with a spare baby bath too. The Friday night food caravan was a hit, and there's a great paddling pool close by. Hands down our best camping trip so far. Absolutely recommend this place.

We spent a week here with my wife and baby. The beach is close enough that you can hear the waves breaking on the sand at night. There's a takeaway caravan open a few nights a week and a shop open daily. It's a quiet, well cared for little park, very nicely presented, with great facilities in the kitchen, shower blocks and toilets. The permanent residents were no trouble at all. They'd greet you in the communal areas, and many of the older residents were fond of our little one. Such a brilliant, well catered place to stay. If I had the money, I'd buy it!

We could hear the ocean from the campsite, which was the icing on the cake. The owners were very kind, especially the woman who answered my call at 8:30 in the evening. We couldn't find any other rooms, and even though it was late and past check-in, she waited while I booked online. When we arrived, she'd left the keys in an envelope with directions to the room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the facilities were very clean. Highly recommended!

We visited over the Waitangi long weekend and really loved this hidden gem. The beach is peaceful and rocky, though there's some sand too, so bring sand toys for the kids. The paddling pool was a big hit with my nine, six and three year olds. The woman who checked us in was lovely. Definitely worth a visit.
