A great spot for kayaking, though the wind made the water too choppy for us to stay out long. The terrace and amazing view were lovely, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything else we needed. The accommodation is right along the Queen Charlotte track, at the last point you can reach by car.

Tanya and Shayne made our last-minute, three-night getaway work from the start. When we couldn't get our car onto the ferry, they offered options for getting food to the property. They were on hand whenever needed after we arrived, happy to chat or share information, but never intrusive. The location by the water was great for swimming and kayaking, and there were people around to say hello to without it ever feeling busy or overwhelming. Our service dog was welcomed easily, which isn't always the case, and that helped make the holiday a success for our son. The rooms were high quality for the price, especially the supportive beds that let us sleep well. We're really glad we chose to stay.

It was my first time staying in a lodge, and my Aunty and I had a great two nights in 'the old shed'. We enjoyed meeting other guests in the well-equipped shared kitchen, and the peaceful place is close to the beach. The beds were super comfortable, and guests could use kayaks for free. The house is right at the start of the Queen Charlotte walkway, handy if you're planning a day or two on the track. I wish we'd booked another night. Thanks Tanya and Shayne.

We were able to check out late because of the water taxi timetable, which was really helpful. Tanya was lovely, and her little ice cream and coffee shop is on site, so be sure to have a look. The guesthouse was clean, spacious and comfortable, with reasonable prices. It suited our group, whether couples or families with little ones, and is right by the end of the Queen Charlotte Track if you're starting from Ship Cove.
