We stayed on a grass site for a few nights. It’s a lovely area, and the location worked well for us, just a short drive from Queenstown. Everyone we met was friendly, and there were plenty of showers and toilets. We especially liked the playlist in the showers! The kitchen was always clean and there was lots of seating for meals, but it’s a little small, so we sometimes had to wait before cooking. Thanks to the whole team.

The view was one of the best parts of my stay, and the place itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff were kind, friendly, and ready to help. Everything was well maintained and worked as it should, so my time there felt relaxed and easy. I had a great experience and would happily return. I’d recommend it for the lovely atmosphere, views, and service.

The park is handy for Arrowtown, with the town centre about a 10-minute walk away and 4 Square even closer. Wifi was acceptable, though I was logged out once and had to sign in again through the portal. The price seemed reasonable to me, as most alternatives appeared more expensive. There’s a good dump and water station, and the card-operated laundry is a useful cashless option, though a little pricey at $6. I didn’t mind that there was no TV room. There’s plenty of room between sites despite the park being large enough for over 50 campervans, tents, and caravans. Many parking spots are marked with gravel. The showers and bathrooms were among the best I’ve come across in NZ, with good pressure and plenty of cubicles. Showers are free for now, although each cubicle has an idle coin machine, perhaps from a planned upgrade or an installation that didn’t work out. The main downside is the kitchen. There’s only one, and it’s far too small for the whole park. I think it would take three kitchens spread around the grounds to be enough. Utensils are only available for rent. I didn’t rent any, but I hope they’re good quality, given the cost of about $15, if I remember right, plus a security deposit. It’s a decent park, and I’d stay again and recommend it. I’d try to use the kitchen at a quieter time to avoid the crowd.

We only managed two nights because there was no vacancy for longer, and I wish we could have stayed. The facilities were clean and tidy, with free showers and laundry at $6 per load. It’s close to attractions and great bike rides, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There’s no view from the campsite, and it was much too crowded. They put people everywhere, even beside the rubbish bin or dump station. The small, old-style kitchen and the laundry, with just 4 machines, were always full, so it was hard to get a chance to use them. Laundry also cost more than at other campsites. The manager/owner at reception didn’t seem welcoming. She said no before finding out what the issue was, then just read out the small print I already knew. When you speak to a person, you expect a warm welcome and some flexibility, not rudeness and attacks. Don’t bother asking reception for anything. Everything costs $$$$, even after customers have already paid. Borrowing anything from the kitchen means $$$$ noises and $$$$ little rules.
