Arthur's Pass Alpine Motel

The room had a lovely view, and the place was comfortable even though I booked a private unit at the last minute. The owners were able to accommodate my 9 pm arrival. There was everything I needed, including soap, shampoo, a hair dryer, a kitchen, tea and coffee, and free postcards. The location was convenient, and parking didn't cost anything. I could hear some voices through the thin walls, but they quieted down at a reasonable time and I slept well. My only gripe was the 10 am checkout, since I wanted a little longer there. I'd definitely recommend it.

Pete and Fiona know the local walking trails well and gave me some good ideas. The cabin was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a full kitchen and a slow combustion fire, all in a spectacular setting. It made a perfect base for a few days in Arthur's Pass. I could happily have stayed for weeks.

The rooms stayed lovely and warm even though it rained throughout our visit. There were four of us in a nice little unit, with a double bed in the lounge and two singles in a separate room. The kitchen was a good size and the bathroom was decent. Trains rumbled by overnight, though they weren't too loud, haha. The staff were lovely and brought extra milk when we asked. We'd happily return.

Really spacious, with a living room separated from the bedroom and good heating. We had parking right outside the accommodation. Cooking was possible, though it took a while to heat things up. A lovely stay.
