Best Western BK's Pioneer Motor Lodge

BK’s Pioneer Motor Lodge was a very comfortable place to stay. The room was spotless and modern, with great beds and well considered amenities, and it felt peaceful and private despite being near the airport and main roads. Getting around was convenient, parking was easy, and check-in went smoothly. Everything worked as it should. The staff’s care stood out most. They were consistently friendly, responsive and happy to help, and the welcome from the moment I arrived felt attentive and sincere. It’s especially handy for an early flight or a quick trip into the city. I’d gladly stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting clean, comfortable, reliable accommodation near Auckland Airport.

The courtyard just outside was my favorite part, and the facilities felt very new and well maintained. We got to Auckland a little after 9 pm, and Leo greeted us warmly and came quickly to pick us up, even though it was already dark. He was very friendly and responsive, and the whole process was easy. When we got back to the hotel, he thoughtfully gave us two bottles of milk. The location made getting around simple, and calling a taxi was easy too. Staying here made a lovely start to my Auckland trip. I’d choose it again next time, though I’ll probably rent a car myself.

A good-value stopover with large, modern rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were friendly, and the bus picked me up from the airport at 1:30 am for a quick ride to the motel. I’d have given it five stars, except they put me on the top floor. As a woman on my own with a large suitcase, I had to drag it up and down the stairs because there’s no elevator.

The room was nice and clean, and Leo at reception was genuinely helpful and professional. But the floors seem paper-thin. I could barely hear traffic from the nearby main road, yet every step and scrape from the room above came through. Guests upstairs started walking around, moving things and thumping at about 11:30 pm. I had a 5 am departure and was already in bed, but the noise kept me awake. I called reception on my own phone at 12:50 am because there’s no in-room phone. Leo politely said he’d speak to them, and I heard him go upstairs. It quieted briefly, then started again until about 3:30 am, making sleep basically impossible. I used earplugs to get some rest, then slept through my wake-up and missed the 5 am airport shuttle. Nobody was at reception when I went to ask about the next one, and the emergency number went unanswered too, despite the advertised 24/7 reception and airport service. I had to pay $18 for an Uber. The overall stay was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re fine with a sleepless night.
