Our stay was unpleasant, and the apartment was clearly poorly maintained and nothing like the photos on Booking.com. The front-line staff at Zenith Property Management tried their best to accommodate us and deal with the problems, but we were disappointed in management, the apartment’s quality, and its price. There were dirty floors, bathroom mould and dried urine on the walls, a broken desk, broken kitchen drawers, a worn couch that smelled of sweat and dirt, mould in the washing machine, dried snot on the sheets, and dust throughout the apartment. The dust affected our kids’ asthma. The remote didn’t work, so we couldn’t get in or out of the carpark, and we were expected to walk an hour to get a replacement. Be very careful what you book. It certainly wasn’t worth $1400 for five nights.

The room was clean, check-in was easy, and the location was convenient. But we couldn’t find information about adjusting the air conditioning. We stayed in spring, when it was about 18C outside, yet inside felt like 28C or hotter. They gave us two fans, but we couldn’t get fresh air unless we opened the windows. Then heavy, greasy cooking smells came in from the street, where there’s a Chinese cuisine express on the building’s ground floor. It was acceptable accommodation, but quicker customer service responses or guidance on the air conditioner would have helped.

The apartment was dirty, and we had to wash the dishes before we could use them. The facilities also felt old and worn. Outside, the neighbourhood was rough and noisy, with homeless people living on the street in front of the building. One day a stranger knocked on our door, then jumped into the lift and disappeared when he realized we were home.

The apartment itself was dirty, especially the kitchenware, which had food stuck to it. Paying a $50 cleaning fee for that felt ridiculous, and the extra 3% credit card charge seemed like a rip-off. We were also given a battered children's bed to sleep in, which was uncomfortable and felt more like a hostel than a chic apartment. We didn't feel safe in the neighbourhood. There's a homeless shelter next door, some people gathered near the entrance, and we saw people using drugs outside during the day. A stranger in a hooded jacket knocked on our door one day and ran off after realizing we were home. The person who handed over the key, at a place nearby, was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. To top it off, the area seemed rough, and we had the worst hotel experience we've ever had. I wouldn't stay here again.

The lack of parking made arrival a hassle. We had to leave the car down the road and carry all our belongings back. For what we paid, we got very little, and I’d suggest booking a fully serviced hotel for a similar price. We stayed in apartment 803, one of seven serviced apartments owned by the same person, and our friends had another one. The room was uncomfortably hot, with no air conditioning and no windows apart from a sliding door in the main room. There were no flannels or hand towels; when I called, the owner said they didn't provide those or air conditioning. For four people, there was just one wine glass. The oven trays were dirty, and although there was coffee on the table, there was no milk in the fridge. This isn't a hotel, but serviced apartments and Airbnb places still need to meet basic standards, and these barely did. Pretty disappointing.
