The wharf-side setting was a highlight, with bars and cafes nearby and easy access to ferries and the city. The staff we met were all friendly, polite, and helpful. But the marina deluxe view suite felt very tired and wasn’t up to scratch. There were cracked kitchen and balcony tiles, and one stovetop element didn’t work, which made cooking difficult. The coffee machine leaked. There wasn’t enough decent crockery, glassware, or kitchen equipment. The paint and carpets looked old and dirty, the sofas were uncomfortable and could use cushions, and the cupboards, drawers, and coffee table were scratched and worn. The toilet button was loose, and the bathroom mirror was battered. Room 210 needs a complete refresh. Music from nearby venues on Friday and Saturday can carry on until 2am. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, but if you’re hoping to sleep well, a city-view room might be a better choice.
