Mount Eden Motel

The room had everything we needed for a quick two-night stay, with a comfortable bed, fun decor, a great location, and handy onsite parking. We’d come back, though I’d pick another suite. Our room was beside the laundry, so the washing was audible in the morning, and light came in very brightly through the back door early in the day. The shower also drained poorly, leaving us standing in water.

Janelle was outstanding throughout the booking. When our kids' original motel cancelled their accommodation, she did everything she could to fit them in and kept her promise to give me the next room available once renovations were finished. We came from Christchurch as a party of four for Metallica and both rooms were spacious, clean, and well laid out. No smell in either room, very comfortable beds, and an amazing shower. Thank you, Janelle and staff. You were amazing beyond words ❤️

The staff are friendly and helpful, and if you're unsure about anything, the nice ladies at reception will answer your questions. They clean every day, bring fresh towels daily, and can provide coffee if you need it. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting from elsewhere in NZ. The service is top quality.

I follow the young couple on TikTok as they work on bringing this motel back to life, so we stayed in one of the refurbished rooms. We arrived late, but the directions for collecting the key and finding everything were clear. The rooms have an old-school 70s feel, and the styling makes them really unique. Next time I’ll come during the day so I can swim.
