Parnell Garden Suite

Susan made check-in easy, and the room was really cute. We loved 3Nutmeg for Indian food, one of several great cafes within walking distance on Parnell street. The rose garden across the road was in full bloom, and there are nice paths nearby. We also found a walking path beyond Parnell rail station that goes to Domain gardens. Susan put out a simple breakfast, with more options at the nice spots on Parnell street if you want them. After exploring downtown Auckland, we had fun riding an electric scooter all the way home. A perfect location for our first stop in NZ.

Susan was easy to contact since she lives just above the property, and she was communicative and accommodating. She’s thought through what a traveller might need, and our immaculate, modern unit had a well-stocked kitchen with enough breakfast items for all four days. We stayed at more than eight properties in New Zealand, and her place was one of our favourites. I can’t say enough good things about it.

There wasn’t anything we needed that was missing. Susan had the self-serve continental breakfast well catered for, and her kindness when we arrived late meant a lot. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, and her attention to detail was second to none.

My daughter and I spent the night here on the eve of her wedding, which was held in the beautiful Parnell Rose gardens right across the road. The suite is bright and airy, with its own lovely garden, and the whole place was spotless. We felt very secure with the entrance gate and house codes. The bed was comfortable, the linen felt brand new, the bathroom floor was heated and fluffy bathrobes were provided. Susan was warm and friendly, and went to great lengths to accommodate an allergy to feather bedding. Everything had been thought of. When I urgently needed scissors, there they were. Breakfast was DIY, with fresh and tinned fruit, yoghurt, loads of cereals, tea, delicious coffee, toast and jams, so we could eat whenever we liked. It’s in central Parnell, within walking distance of restaurants and nightlife, but the road itself is quiet. I didn’t even need my usual earplugs. I’d definitely recommend this lovely place in central Auckland and would love to stay again. Caroline M. D.
