Quest on Queen

The rear-facing apartment was very noisy because of a nightclub that went on for most of the night, and there was no double glazing. Apart from that, it was a great location, very clean, and well appointed.

The bed was comfy and the room was good value, but I’d rather pay more for basic things to work. The gym was unavailable while we stayed, apparently for repairs, and it was one of the main reasons we picked the hotel. They offered no compensation, even though I had to pay for a separate gym pass. The can opener in the room was broken. Reception was still closed 12 minutes after its listed opening time when I went to ask for another. I said I’d collect it on my way back so my partner wouldn’t be disturbed, but they knocked on our door while my partner was asleep anyway. Now we have two can openers. The hot water only stays hot for about five minutes, and the wifi is too slow to use. Streaming and casting from a device to the TV don’t work. Room service was late, still making the bed when we got back in the late afternoon. Today no one came at all, so maybe cleaning is only every second day. There’s no soundproofing, and street noise is loud. Someone backed into our rental car in their designated parking, and they didn’t even apologize. They said, “Not our problem, email Wilson’s”. Won’t be booking with Quest again.

The lift was scary and took ages to get to me. We made dinner and it was yum, the kitchen was good. No gym, very sad. Overall, pretty average.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly, and the location is close to everything. But the noise made the atmosphere really negative. Friday night had VERY loud nightlife and music until 3am, and Saturday it went until around 2am. I can’t fault the room, but I won’t stay here again.
