The apartment was tired and a bit knocked around, and the website photos make it look much nicer than it actually is. The bathroom slider jammed halfway, leaving the person in the lounge able to see you on the toilet or in the shower. Water from the shower puddled on the floor and soaked the bath mat, and the lighting was gloomy. The main plus is how close it is to the viaduct, but that also meant intolerable noise. We expected some city sounds on a Saturday night. Instead, people shouted, argued, laughed loudly, and partied outside all night until nearly daylight, while cars hooned past. The single glazing did little to keep it out. Neither of us slept at all. We were very disappointed. It cost the same as a nice hotel, and we should have chosen one.

It's close to downtown, but the view is of the inner road between the two buildings. The cleaning was terrible on the carpet and balcony, and the towels smelled sour. Because we booked through Booking.com, we didn't get the code information. We called the office and got in, though identifying the fob was a small challenge. We were lucky someone else arrived and helped.
The apartment was very clean, comfortable, convenient, and well equipped, including a washing machine and dryer. It was pet-friendly, and we'd stay again. The kitchen was good, though there were no instructions for the extractor fan, and a baking tray for the oven would have been useful. Getting in took some figuring out. The full entry instructions weren't provided, only the code to access the key. The electronic fob needed as well was so small that we didn't recognise it at first. Another tenant pointed it out and showed us where to swipe it. The key also didn't say which floor the apartment was on, which was a pain with luggage. Full instructions and a query phone number were inside the apartment.
The room was good, the balcony was nice, and the unit was fully self-contained. On Friday night, young car enthusiasts meet locally with really loud stereos and exhausts. It didn't bother me, but it was definitely grinding other guests' gears. They moved on to another spot before too long. A bit of maintenance wouldn't go astray, and they charged my card for the booking earlier than they said they would.
This was the worst experience I've had dealing with travel accommodation. I'd arrived in NZ from Australia that day for the Coldplay concert and had a confirmed reservation at Princes Wharf Boutique Apartments. But nobody sent me the check-in or lockbox details beforehand. It was pouring and I was soaked through. I called the hosts over and over, but got no answer, only voicemail. I left messages and texts, still nothing. Booking.com customer service also couldn't reach them, even after I called twice. I waited four hours for a response that never came. The concert had already started, and I couldn't find another place in Auckland at the last minute because everything was crazy expensive. I can't reply to your message because there's no reply section. I can provide details and screenshots of my booking and all my attempts to reach you, if you want. Do you have a private line, or should I post it here?
