The host contacted me two days before check-in to say the property wasn't available because it had been sold and had a permanent tenant, after charging the full amount to my credit card. They said the dates had been blocked in July, but still confirmed my booking in August and took my money in November. It was also still showing as available in November and December. Apparently they'd cancelled someone else's booking too, saying they had "financial issues," so I don't know what to believe. They arranged free cancellation for me, but now I have to wait 7-14 days for my $1500.00 refund and find more money for accommodation in the meantime.

The house is great, easy to access, and well located for a Western Springs event. The agent acknowledged my feedback. There were two things that let the place down: it wasn't clean in several areas, and the BBQ couldn't be used. Also, none of the kitchen basics you'd expect at this level were there, such as pepper, coffee, or cooking oil.

The whole stay went smoothly, from my first enquiry right through to checkout. Fantastic place to stay. Thanks again.
