A lovely little hidden gem if you’re stopping by on a budget. Our queen room had its own bathroom. It wasn’t pretentious, and while it was a little sparse, it was clean and tidy with what you need for a night or two. The staff were friendly, the cleaners were clearly around, and extra pillows and luggage storage were available at no extra cost. Milo, the hotel mascot and resident floof, was a darling and a fantastic canine ambassador. There’s also a great kitchen and social space, with complimentary Marshmallows and a slightly overpriced drink machine. It’d suit young people or a group of them really well. The bed, though, was horrendously hard. I probably would’ve slept better on the floor. Booking three nights was my bad, because my back was screaming after the first one. The price matched the amenities, and we’d come back if not for that bed, but this old 50 yr old nurse’s back just can’t do it, sorry :(

Milo, the hotel dog, was such a sweet, friendly presence and made the place feel even more homely. Breakfast was another highlight, with plenty of options for the price. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help, and the hotel manager was genuinely attentive and went above and beyond to make sure things were perfect. I felt so welcomed from the moment I walked into Hotel United Auckland. It offers warmth, comfort, and top-notch hospitality. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Auckland!

This was my second stay in three months. It’s a clean, tidy, professional budget place, with good staff vibes and quiet, considerate guests. There are pleasant solo rooms with shared bathrooms as well as suites with private bathrooms, all at affordable rates. Even during a heat wave I had no trouble staying cool here, unlike at another place nearby that same week. The hill location can be a bit of a pain. If you’re feeling lazy, I recommend taking a bus towards K Road and walking down instead of hiking up Queen St 😁

I stayed at united auckland for a few days recently and had a great experience. All the staff were really nice, especially Nick, who helped my partner and me with some documents and told us where we could start handing in CVs. The men’s toilet on our floor was broken, and there was some humidity in the room. Still, it was a great experience!

The big kitchen and quiet communal areas were great, and the facilities were clean. It’s a nice hostel in a good location, with friendly staff. I’d stay again :)
